Anyway I am supposed to feel the stress of all these Data Requests that have come in and James isn't responding to any of my texts and chats. But oddly, I'm not all that worried about them. Somehow I know they'll all get done. I'm more stressed that Johnnie has all kinds of time this afternoon and I need to give him an activity of some sort to keep him occupied. He doesn't have swim class for the next couple of Tuesdays because our pool is closed per order of LA County. Yep, COVID is coming back with a vengeance for the holidays, not that it was not expected actually. Just annoying more than anything. And with no more computer programming class, his afternoon slate is very much empty. And so I talked him into doing another book like we did THE BOOK WITH NO PICTURES. And he even agreed to pick out a book... which was DONT LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS. But he realized how difficult a task this turned out to be and he quit after just 3 pages. Oh well... at least I got him to do a rendering of a Christmas tree to put up on my wall. After all, he and mommy put up their Christmas tree last night. This is the best anyone will get in my apartment. And hey, it's as festive as it's going to get right? It IS the first day of December after all and although we're in the middle of a county-wide lockdown, which is expected to become statewide in a couple of days, I'm really not doing anything any different than I was already. I'm working from home, doing ok and not really going anywhere much. I mean we do still get his dinner from Panda Express which is our one time we go out for the day I guess but even that is just a very brief outing. With the moratorium on outdoor dining, even that little strip of restaurants on Sawtelle and Olympic has pretty much closed down too even as they started to get much busier. I mean I myself am getting pretty tired of cooking in all the time even while I had a ton of chicken leftovers in the fridge. I would have happily eaten something out LOL. And so it was that the first day of December was spent with me introducing Johnnie to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Hey, animals, ninjas, martial arts, I thought he'd like it. Maybe a tad too mature. He still got a bit scared. It's ok. He got in about 5 episodes and then it was time to go to bed. Anything that's different from Jurassic World Universe was good. And so it was we ended the day with Johnnie asking the Universe to let me into his dreams again tonight. I'll be there Little Bug to protect you and keep you safe. I'll be there.
