Back To Work Bright and Early

I'm up and showering before it was even 7 AM this morning. I know it's a Monday and all but that's W-A-Y early even if I were driving in to work, let alone working from home. So why up so early? Because I agreed to watch Johnnie first thing this morning while Lisa headed out to Venice Beach to get some swimming in... as in swimming in the ocean. I didn't mind really, even though I'm getting Johnnie back tonight anyway. I'm doing my good deed for the day.  And so it was I got to Lisa's house by 7:15, Johnnie was still asleep but I got him up by 7:30 as if he were sleeping at my house. That's because on my watch, I'm getting him breakfast from McDonald's of course. And so it was that by the time Lisa got back, it was already almost 9 AM. I had Johnnie fed, even put away all the trash so efficiently it looked like he never even ate. And I got him some of that fresh-squeezed OJ too. AND I got his 9 AM Zoom session started, although this morning, it was Morning Assembly. It was almost 9:30 AM by the time I got back to my own apartment. It felt like I already had a fairly full morning. Of course the only thing on my schedule this morning was that Business Continuity Meeting at 10:30. But then again, this is also Tech Council Meeting week and I had to do minutes, I had to come up with some kind of presentation, the whole 9 yards. And so this is going to be a fairly busy first 3 days this week. I imagine I'm not going to be sleeping a lot the next few days, though for some reason that really doesn't make a difference since I am prone to letting myself watch TV until all hours of the night anyway. As it was, the Business Continuity Meeting came and went pretty uneventfully, and I started on my Tech Council Meeting routine. That is, get the Meeting Minutes done today, and then try to organize something to talk about. It's gonna be one of those meetings like so many a couple of years ago where I was virtually pulling stuff out of my ass to talk about. But then again I had a pretty huge meeting last month and I'm still basically covering To-Do's from that time.
By mid-afternoon, I started to do aerobics earlier than usual. I figured I needed to get to close to 8000 steps by the time I picked up Johnnie again at 5:30. I had almost forgotten that I got up so early this morning. Until I got reminded with a flash of fatigue right in the middle of step aerobics. Still I managed to make it through the day and I actually did manage to get the Minutes done and sent off. Now all I have to do is actually come up WITH a presentation LOL. Lisa called me to let me know they had gone biking and were going to be 15 minutes late coming back. I didn't mind as long as she let me know and that I'm not waiting in front of her house like an idiot. Turned out she bought yet another pet for Johnnie. A gecko this time. Is she truly getting bored and running out of things to occupy Johnnie with? They actually had a crab last week. Yes that's right. A crab. But they wised up and realized it wasn't really that entertaining or even remotely interesting to have a really small crab that you needed to keep in sea water. And so mercifully, they returned it to the ocean. By the time I picked up Johnnie, they had come back and Lisa had a huge plate of salad in the dining room. Guess all that swimming had her hungry LOL. Johnnie and I headed off for our week together, and the first step was to make sure Johnnie had done all his homework. Everything was checked off except for EPIC book reading. He's supposed to read 20 minutes a day. We get to do it tonight. I went well beyond 20 minutes actually. That would be my competitive self who saw one other kid at Level 15 while Johnnie was at Level 12. I got him to Level 13 by the end of today's session. Then and ONLY then did I allow him to watch his beloved Octonauts. And actually, tonight I really did need him occupied while I worked on my Tech Council Meeting stuff. And get my steps in as well. Mondays I usually go well beyond 11,000 steps. And the past 2 weeks I actually got past 12,500. I was too busy to go much more beyond 12,000 tonight as once again this morning's early get-up day had its effects. I wanted to sleep early. But alas I couldn't. I actually almost fell asleep but I did get up just as soon as I knew Johnnie had knocked off. And then I worked on my presentation. Work work work on a Monday. Sigh...
