You can tell that fall is already upon us when it is starting to get cold outside in the morning. As in sweater or hoodie cold, but it still gets really warm during the day. In the meantime, another Thursday means Computer class, Music class, my IS team Meeting and then the scramble for whatever Johnnie is going to eat for lunch. Today I tried to get him to eat Pizza Hut cheese pizza just to do something different, which then resulted in ME eating a cheese pizza for lunch because he only ate half. Oh well, at least all I had to do was supplement that with a salad while Johnnie was doing his class at noon. In the meantime, I tried to get caught up with work. Lots of invoices, lots of approvals. Mundane busywork really and I knew I needed to still start on Tech Council staff which is going on next week. The thing that made today different was that I set up a Zoom call with Balwan and Varsha and Johnnie and I this afternoon after his computer class. Varsha is not in school so far and I can only imagine how difficult that must be for Balwan and Sharon. Not that having Johnnie home is any more difficult. After all, even Kristen Wong from Lisa's office told me there was no way she could do what we do with Johnnie. He does take 90% of my attention in the morning. Still, by the time class is done I'm looking for ways to fill out the afternoon to take the place of the time he would have spent in the STAR program. I think he learned a lot there actually. And the best part was that he was kids just a tad older than he was. And so kinder was fairly easy to get used to this year. He already knew a lot of last year's kinder class. And so what I was trying to do was at least keep him socially engaged with other kids, which to me is the toughest thing to pull off during this pandemic. Us adults are already having a difficult time and social people like Lisa are having a REALLY tough time. And so Johnnie and Varsha got to talk albeit on Zoom. I caught up a bit with Balwan and Sharon too and I was glad to hear that they were actually going over to Lisa's house on Sunday. I don't think I'll be there because I'm playing golf. I look at it from the lens of "Everything is you pushed out" that I am trying to be aware of what is going on with Balwan and Sharon. It is a trying time for him because he is not working and trying to pull off his Yogatalks site. Maybe something I can learn while I myself try to transition. I need to address that part of me that says it is too late, I'm too old to be doing that. In fact, everything is possible. And I need to do the internal work to make that happen. The other thing that was different was that Johnnie wanted to go to Panda Express Westwood. He wanted to show off his necklace. Too bad Ednah was not there though. Oh well, another week with Johnnie concludes, another Lisa pick-up. And I would find later on, not an uneventful one either. Ay Lisa... See next post same day.
