This Being A Tuesday And All...

It's Cinco de Mayo today. And Taco Tuesday to boot.  Not that any of that matters since we're obviously still in stay-at-home mode. What does matter is that my schedule is pretty clear of meetings today. And that allows me to focus on being Johnnie's school teacher for pretty much most of the day. Just look at me in full taskmaster mode right from when Johnnie got done with breakfast!

But in my defense, it wasn't like I was cracking the whip all day long. Didn't I let him play a bit trying to incorporate some kind of PE class in Johnnie's day (see gif). And did I not let him watch videos, even though they were still of the educational variety (Number blocks)?
And at the end of the day, didn't Daddy and son chill outside, enjoying what turned out to be a very warm day out.
And yes, this being a Tuesday and all, much as I would have loved to get me some tacos from any one of a dozen places in my own neighborhood, the sad fact is that most of these places are not open for me to drive to. And so it was that I just stuck to the same Tuesday routine. On to the grill and barbeuing Italian sausage, and then Johnnie playing soccer. He used to be satisfied kicking the ball against the wall while I grilled. Not anymore. Now he wants me to play with him. And so I did...while grilling.
And I ended up making myself some terrific fried rice with Italian sausage for dinner.. while Johnnie was very much satisfied with his penne pasta and sausage. He actualy spent the bulk of the rest of the evening drawing up some elaborate stuff he wanted to give his mom presumably tomorrow morning. I hadn't told him yet he wasn't going over there because Lisa is still feeling sick. But at least we had a good "school"-focused day today. And hopefully more of the same tomorrow. All I know was that multiple times today and as I went to sleep, I played back moments of what turned out to be an eezy-peezy kind of day. And it made me smile.
