Johnnie Hand-Off, The Vote Count Goes On...
I woke up this morning to the news that Trumps lead had continued to shrink everywhere... to the point where the state of Georgia is now in play for Biden. Could he really flip deep red Georgia? And by mid-morning Michigan had officially flipped to Biden. NOW he has a clear path to a win. But there were still sooo many votes left to count yet. At least I'm feeling MUCH MUCH better about Joe Biden's chances than Tuesday night when I went to bed thinking he had already lost this thing. In the meantime Trump had started to really bug about needing to get the vote count stopped. W-h-a-t? Doesn't he know if they did that he would have already lost the election? What a dunce. What he meant was... Keep counting the votes where I'm leading, Stop counting the votes where I'm behind. Does this guy think we're ALL idiots? In the meantime there's still Thursday usual. Johnnie's computer class at 9 AM, Music class at 9:30, my IS Team Meeting and then the start of learning all the stuff that Lam does. I hate that James would be the only one left to depend on. Not that he's undependable but he's not exactly 100% reliable either. Lam was. In the meantime, since I am so focused and emotionally invested in the election, I had stopped doing my Image Cycling routine, and the other meditation routines as well. I still did manage to do my steps, even though yesterday I was so tired I didn't know if I was even going to make it to a half the usual 11,000. But I pushed myself and got it done. And today it was even easier since I had gotten caught up with sleep. Lisa actually even picked up Johnnie much earlier than usual. As in by 6:30! How about that. All you know is that she never picks him up at the same time ever. And sometimes I still have to drop him off. I didn't care really, it allowed me to focus on the vote count that has now gotten very riveting since it has gone on this long. I mean a full 3 days since the polls closed. Biden is now on pace to take the lead in Georgia! And of course there was the big prize: Pennsylvania. He gets that state and they have to call it. But there are still almost a million mail-in ballots to count. The good news? They're mostly from the Philadelphia area! Heavily Democrat. And so with no sports to watch I kept myself glued to the TV watching the ongoing coverage. I can't imagine what it must be like for Trump, probably stewing and brooding wherever he is. The network coverage was mostly now focusing on the obvious, which was that Biden would take the lead in both Georgia and Pennyslvania at some point this evening. Which makes it pretty clear there won't be a call tonight either! Arggh!! At least I am feeling much MUCH better about Biden's chances. And now Trump is startint to flaunt fraud allegations for real and suing in state court. Fucking loser. And so it was that this painstakingly, excruciatingly slow process has to keep going until at least tomorrow. I'm sure the rest of the country is asking the same question(s) as I am. Why is this taking so damn long?!! In the meantime I had also noticed that my resting heart rate that had spiked to its highest level in 8 months since we were sent to quarantine by the pandemic, had stayed there since Tuesday. It was now up to 74. It had been at 67 just a few weeks ago. This damn election is making me anxious to be sure. Unbelievable.
