Really Busy Thursday

And so it is back to the regular routine, or at least whatever that is for a Thursday. For Johnnie, it's back to his classes after a day off in the middle of the week yesterday. For me, it's back to my IS Team Meeting and perhaps if I may be so allowed, I was exhibiting a little stress today. Lam is down to his last day tomorrow and to tell you the truth I am really not caring much at all. OK forgive the nonchalance but I think it we're going to be ok, but still you can't blame me for having a bit of anxiety about it either. My job is to manage, I'll manage. In the meantime, I just agreed to do the Halloween thing for Lisa's office on Saturday. That would be this Saturday and so I need to get my head wrapped around that too. And finally, Johnnie has a class-wide assessment test scheduled during his small group class at noon and I always project some sort of anxiety about any of Johnnie's evaluations too. And oh by the way, we're supposed to be having dinner with Lisa tonight sort of as a belated birthday thing. Suddenly I feel like things have gotten quite busy. I spent the morning helping Johnnie do school stuff, and even uploaded a video of his project for his computer programming class. Little did I know that was going to be their activity for the day, to learn how to upload a video of their project. And so he not only was the first and only person to do that before their class today, doing that meant he was done with his classwork for the day. But not with all his activities. I had one more in store for him. He had been showing a heck of a lot more interest in martial arts the last couple of weeks. And so this afternoon, I found a YouTube video on a martial arts class for kids. And I had him do Day1 Class1 online just to see if he'd like it. In 20 minutes he learned to get to attention position and a fighting stance position. Again I wanted to see if he could hold attention and focus for the 20 minutes. I think I saw enough that I'm actually going to enroll him in this class or one like it for real. And so there's yet one more thing he gets to talk about with his mom when Lisa picks him up for dinner. As far as that went, Oops of course has become the go-to place for dinner. Outdoor dining, Japanese sushi at its finest. I don't know what restaurants are going to do on rainy days but tonight even in the November cold, this was just fine. Obviously, food is the big deal and it did not disappoint. And so we had our family dinner for Lisa's birthday, which I think was all she wanted from me anyway and then on the way back, I decided to make a stop on the way home. I had talked to Lisa about the thanksgiving lunch on Saturday and it occurred to me that THAT was just a couple of days away. As in I had better get the turkey tonight so it can at least have a couple of days to thaw out.  Off I went to Ralphs to pick up a nice 14-lb turkey. And since I have done this a few times before I knew exactly what to get. It's not just the turkey, there has to be some side dishes too. And I am KNOWN for my stuffing. Oh and Lisa complained last year about the potatoes needing to be real for the mashed potatoes side dish. And of course I'm going to have to have a bunch of pans to put all this food for transport. Again, lucky for me I already know what I'm doing. Boy, this really did turn into one busy day didn't it?
