Vacation Day with Johnnie Day 1

So I had the day off today and in fact I had the entire week off. And so what do I do first thing? Get showered and drive to the office! For whatever reason Johnnie had it in his mind that he wanted to go with daddy to his office today and I did not have the heart to tell him I didn't have to go because I had to watch him today.  Instead I figured why not play down there for a little bit this morning? Have breakfast at least. And then we'll see what's up. And so I posted pics from the FRB at breakfast and then mugging for a shot of downtown. And then at Grand Park. Was it almost 3 years ago when Johnnie was barely walking that I took him to this park to play? Memories to be sure. Today he found a playmate and ended up having fun actually... or so I thought anyway. We went home, got the car washed, brought back some fried chicken [that he wolfed down] and then off he went to dreamland on a 2 1/2 hr nap. I figured he's still catching up with some jet lag. Or maybe not...

I do know LISA is still catching up with jet lag. I promised to check in at 5 PM to see where she was at and maybe we all could have dinner again like last night. Nothing to overthink about this gesture. Just being nice because she's not going to be seeing him until Thursday night. I do know what it is like to miss this kid. And so despite everything still going on with her house, which I try to sound interested in but not really. Still one of those unforced drama creation she manages to inflict on herself in my point of view. And really none of my business anyway. All I cared about was to pick her up and take her with us to Mitsuwa for dinner. I had my beef stir fry, Johnnie had his udon and tofu blocks and Lisa had her sushi and we were good to go. My good deed for the day was done. And Johnnie and i were off to our Monday routine it felt like, although tonight there was no need to stop at Mcdonald's for chicken nuggets. I made sure Johnnie had plenty to eat all day. Just some lessons and sight words and feeding the fish. And then Johnnie off to sleep. Any day with Johnnie would be a pretty good day.
