As of this morning I was still thinking of driving down to San Diego to take Johnnie to Legoland tomorrow morning, and staying the night at the Legoland Hotel tonight. The only thing was that we made plans to have dinner with Lisa tomorrow night and that would mean we would need to leave San Diego by lunchtime. Is it really worth it just to go to Legoland for a couple of hours? I thought not. But then again I needed to have something to do for today as a replacement activity for that or I was still going to go. Enter the LA Arboretum, which I found on a list of kid-friendly things to do every day. I had Johnnie doing lessons and watching stuff on the iPad while I figured out what to do. I did finally decide to go... remembering a special time in the April-May 2006 timeframe when Lisa and i first started to do things together. We ended up the Arboretum somehow, surrounded by peacocks. I figured Johnnie could at least see a couple of peacocks. I made the resulting slideshow posted here made up of pictures from our time. We did end up having a pretty good time there and Johnnie loved the peacocks and the Chinese exhibit.
By the afternoon it was clear that I had scrapped the Legoland plan. It's just as well. Judging from the past couple of days there are plenty of things to do and keep Johnnie occupied for the next couple of days still. The day turned out to be pretty good. Just like yesterday.
