Home = My Office, Johnnie's Classroom
So today was more of the same as yesterday with one notable exception. Today Johnnie is hanging with me all day at home too. With Lisa's office closed it's not like we have childcare issues anymore. But I wasn't about to give up my time with Johnnie either. I already missed seeing him the last 3 days, I think I can figure out a way to keep him occupied while I was working at home. After all, we did have a ton of material, websites, books, educational stuff which presumably he would have been learning if he were in school. He had already started doing a lot of it with Lisa yesterday. Now he gets to do it with me. And so the picture I posted was more like the new sign of the times. Johnnie working on his schoolwork, me working on my work stuff. Dad and son just hanging out at home on a weekday in the time of coronavirus. I thought we actually did great progress on his homework too, although I wasn't sure what the timing was in terms of when he takes breaks, when he gets to run and around and play because I'm sure he gets to run around and play. And then at 11 AM we had a sort of temperature check with the Management Team. Pretty cool to have everyone on in a Zoom meeting and I thought it worked out very very well. After the meeting it was lunchtime and here is where I need to establish new routines for the foreseeable future when I have Johnnie. I know he rarely eats anything when he's at school but I'm not having that. And so off we went to Whole Foods to get him a pepperoni pizza and while there I got me some orange chicken and noodles and rice. It was a perfect lunch for the both of us. A year ago I would have happily ushered Johnnie to his afternoon nap. But since he doesn't take naps anymore I can pretty much count on him going and going through the afternoon and then some. I actually had to keep him busy with some educational stuff on the web while I worked in the afternoon. I have a Tech Council meeting to do tomorrow after all and luckily I pretty much have my material put together already. And this being a Tuesday and all you know I'm all about routine and somehow keeping it going no matter what if I can help it at all. And through all that, to keep Johnnie occupied and not too bored. I kept him at bay while I did my phone call this morning with a timely showing of Frozen 2. But I can only do that for so long. The next mission is to find another movie he can get attached to. Today he actually reverted back to the Dinosaur Train and I was all too happy to oblige. That and making the usual Italian sausage in the barbecue and penne pasta chicken soup for dinner. While barbecuing I made him come out with me and hit his soccer ball against the wall for practice. I don't know if the league is still going to go on. But at least I can keep him ready. I made him do 100 kicks against the wall and when he got done, I not only got him tired out and exercised, I actually got him hungry too. And so he wolfed down his penne pasta AND sausage for dinner. I had penne and sausage for my dinner too. And then of course I had to bake up some chocolate chip cookies. Tuesday night is Tuesday night is Tuesday night. It's funny that without sports to think about, my attention is now on a very narrow band. Such as work, Johnnie stuff, and my internal work. Although for the latter, I will admit to being so distracted that I haven't actually kept up with it much. At least not like before. With that said, I still run into a whole bunch of material that I'm sure is meant to remind me to stay on track and stay on path. Which I am happy to do. Anyway, if it's all about raising my vibration and keeping it as high as possible, nothing better than to goof around with Johnnie all night long to do that. Just look at him in the pic, simply being his joyful, playful little kid self. And I think I even sort of wore him out today. Because while he was taking a shower, he noticeably slowed down and I thought he was going to konk out right there. THe last time he did was the night he got back from Paris after a 14-hour flight. Anyway no playing in the tub tonight and no bedtime stories either. He crawled into bed and he was breathing heavily into sleep not 5 minutes later. I followed suit a few minutes from that too actually. Not that I had a particularly tough day mind you. Still trying to get used to all this. Like everybody else.
