Luvin Tuesdays :)

So before I dive into all things that happened today let me first preface that today is Super Tuesday, which is the day California votes for its Democratic Primary. I felt like that is REALLY important especially in our current political climate of Trump-world and his reality TV presidency. It would be GREAT to have a real president instead of someone acting like one despite the general gullibility of the American public that voted Trump in in the first place. Or maybe it's just the dark side of folks that got stirred up by the master of the dark side anyway. Hard to see LOVE manifesting in the current environment but still you have to believe everything is unfolding as it is supposed to. And anyway the reminder is that everything on the outside is merely a reflection of everything on the inside, even at a societal consciousness level. If massive stupidity at the highest level needs to create the kind of change for the highest good, then maybe that is exactly what is happening now. Still I look at Johnnie and his giddy self getting ready for school and be-bopping on his way to his classroom and I remind myself that HE is the future and HE is the one going to live in the world we create today. And so we had better get it right sooner rather than later. I wore my "I VOTED" button proudly this morning and then I headed off to the office. I was only there to pick up breakfast really and then I was headed right back out to CCALAC on Figueroa for a strategy planning session. I'm chuckling that I'm not at all involved at any of QueensCare's Strategy planning sessions, yet here I am at CCALAC's. Chad our COO was here as well and we spent the entire morning hashing out strengths and weakness in a SWOT type of analysis. I really had just one overarching thing to say in a session that seemed bent on pointing out CCALAC's benefits and accomplishments. To me, they fall short in one large area: they need to flex their muscles and use their leverage more to help it's member organizations. They don't nearly do enough of that. All in all I'd say it was a productive meeting for them. And it didn't escape me that this morning gave me an opportunity to get out of the office, log in a massive number of steps... so much so that I was already at 8000 before lunch. It also afforded me a nice view of downtown LA in a warm, sunny day in early March. And I got to stop at Fig and 7th to pick up a do-it-yourself-pizza to boot. A win-win-win all around even if I didn't get anything done for Queenscare work. I still provided massive value I thought. I even managed to bring the pizza back to QueensCare and sat with my usual lunch people at the cafeteria. I was already loving today! It IS Tuesday I remind myself which meant a rock-solid routine for Johnnie and I when I pick him up from school. First was to check what he had done today. It was mis-matched socks day and we got that done. He also came home with some home-made goop he wanted to play with. AND he wanted to keep on reading and drawing when we got home. Works for me! I took him outside where he read his dinosaur book while I grilled our Italian sausage on the barbecue. By then I had already logged in 10,000 steps and getting to 11,000 was a breeze. I made him his penne pasta in chicken broth, and he wolfed down Italian sausage. And still wanted treats afterwards. Fortunately, it is also chocolate-chip-cookie night and he downed a couple of those just as soon as they had cooled off from the oven. Johnnie was really engaged with his play stuff today and that was just fine with me. He wanted to watch bits and pieces of Frozen 2 although I think he was merely interested in listening to the songs. Especially the indigenous Sami song Cantus - Vuelie. Pretty cool when a Norwegian choir sings it actually. Who knew there were indigenous people in Northern Europe. But then again they WOULD be all over the world wouldn't they?! Funny how they would look and sound almost NATIVE AMERICAN. Hmmm... interesting isn't it?! Anyway Johnnie was totally immersed in play tonight (look at him in the pic) so much so that it gave me a chance to follow the Lakers-76ers game. Not the heavyweight bout it was supposed to be because the Sixers 2 best players Simmons and Embiid weren't playing. That would be like the Lakers not playing LeBron and AD. And so a win was sort of an afterthought. But a win is a win is a win. I let Johnnie play and draw all night and I could only imagine he is usually like this at Lisa's house too. He has less toys to play with here of course but he has plenty regardless. And he has plenty of imagination as well. He can make a toy out of some paper and napkins LOL. And so I had a pretty relaxing evening just hanging out with my Little Bug. All the way to shower time (which I made him take early... I felt like he still needed some rest and recuperation from his busy weekend) and all the way to Sweet Cocoon before going to sleep. In fact, I almost knocked off earlier than he did. He kind of had to nudge me awake to let me know he was ready to sleep. It wasn't 10 PM yet. I had no complaints about that.
