Midweek Stuff
This being the middle of the week and all I did fully expect to be busy at work today. But before I get into that I do want to say that my mind was pretty busy all night long. I didn't have the long, restful sleep that I did Monday night. My fitbit says I got 6 1/2 hours of sleep in which sounds just about right considering I did knock off at the same time that Johnnie did prior to 10 PM. And I woke up, or at least I felt like I woke up at least twice during the sleep session. The first time I happened to look at my wrist and it was 1:30 AM. What? I'm waking up not even 3 hours into sleep? And then again at around 4 AM. Which is not even 3 hours later still. What the heck could be going on in my other-than-conscious? Hopefully it's helping work out issues and creating solutions. Only when I tried to do a full-on meditation when I finally thought I should be waking up, which was around 6 AM, nothing significant came up. I did remember my dreams but again nothing really stuck and right now as I write this, I don't even remember what my dreams were about. I did remember at the time though. So anyway, I'm hoping to get reminded again... if it's that important anyway. I'm thinking I need to get in the habit of paying more attention to the messages my Higher Self sends me regardless. And so I dropped Johnnie off at school and then got myself to work. Started with a corned beef hash and eggs breakfast [why it's so much faster and felt hassle-free with Jose making it than Mark is something to note... I guess it depends if I'm trying to test my own state huh?] and then put my head down and started entering my invoices in my own database. Something I need to have done in a week to present to my boss. Very tedious, very boring stuff. But something I've been meaning to do for a while as well. Which is to keep track of I.S. expenses. Much easier to do when Justin was here. Now if I'm struggling it's all the administrative and contract stuff that I have to manage that I used to just push off to Justin. Oh well, we all gotta get used to doing more with less, as other departments are going to find out soon. Can't help but think that if Justin did stay, I wonder if I would have been asked to let him go now? That stuff is never easy. No bigger an example of how stretched thin my team is already as we go help out at the health centers for their monthly staff meeting. They're scratching by themselves having lost TWO managers. And the ones that are there obviously may or may not be the most technology savvy. And so I acknowledge that they need hand holding. Just that I don't have that many hands to hold them either. By 4 PM right around the time their meeting got started, the IS area was totally empty because everyone had to be at a remote site. And I asked Larry to help out at the FRB. In the end, everything turned out ok. And I even left early to field my own HIT Roundtable Meeting. But really I left early because it was Wednesday, and Panda Express night. Just look at Johnnie having a ton of energy jumping and dancing around in the pic I posted right as I picked him up at STAR! And then he proceeded to eat almost all his teriyaki chicken and rice. The last 2 Wednesdays he knocked off in the backseat. Tonight I took a different route home. I went down Westwood Blvd instead of making a right on Pico. Usually he'll fall asleep right before I pass Sepulveda. This time I got all the way to the McDonald's a block away before I noticed he started to nod off. Which was easy to keep him awake since our apartment was already there minutes later. It was a good thing too. I made him learn to do add and subtract without using his fingers and while I padded my step stats for the day, he watched Frozen 2 yet again. I wonder if he realizes that no one, and I mean NO ONE has watched Frozen 2 as often as he has to this point? It's still in theaters actually. The DVD won't actually be released until Feb 25, almost 2 weeks from now. He has watched it so much he knows all the words to all the songs. Heck I even remember hearing the songs in the dreams I couldn't remember from the other night! Anyway just another Wednesday night and one where I didn't have to wake him up only to put him back to bed an hour later LOL. Instead I let him watch 3 Little Pigs while I watched the OT conclusion of the Lakers-Nuggets game. Exciting game. Looked like everyone was playing full out play-off style. Lakers win! They're assured of a winning season for the first time in almost 7 years! NOW It's a good night! Lights out!
